The Graeme College 1st cricket team took part in the 18th annual Cape Youth Cricket Festival which was hosted by Alexander Road in Port Elizabeth during the school holidays.

The Graeme team was in good form posting great victories against Western Province Cricket Club by eight wickets and Pinelands High by 88 runs.

The Graeme team was in good form posting great victories against Western Province Cricket Club by eight wickets and Pinelands High by 88 runs.

An exciting draw was recorded against Westerford High. After being set the daunting target of scoring 286 in only 49 overs, the Graeme side only just fell short, ending the day on 253/7 at the stumps.

The T20 match against York High from George on the final day was called off due to a wet pitch.
Luvuyo Mabusela was in great form reeling off three consecutive half centuries (79 not out, 57 and 84).

He was well supported by Carl Oerson (53 not out and 58 not out), Brendon Wicks (32 not out and 63 not out), and Thato Lesoro (44 and 43). Bowlers to keep watching are Thandi Nqowana (3/28, 3/24 and 5/72), Oerson (3/29 and 2/54), and Wicks (4/31, 2/28 and 2/60).

Graeme vs Pinelands High (50 overs). Graeme – 234/4 (Oerson 58 not out, Mabuslea 57, Thato Lesoro 44, Brendon Wicks 32 not out). Pinelands 146 all out (Wicks 4/32, Nqowana 3.24, Wayde Douglas 2/42). Graeme won by 88 runs.
