Hilton Keeton of the Salem Tennis Cluband Jill Tyson of Clumber Tennis Club werecrowned the men’s and woman’s tennis champions after winning their finals of the Bathurst and Districts Lawn Tennis Association A League Championships on Saturday.

The championships got under way with first round matches and the semi-finals taking place on Saturday, 22 August at Kenton (A league),Grahamstown (B league) and Shaw Park (C league) tennis clubs.
A few semi-final matches held over from the first round as well as the finals took place at the Grahamstown Tennis Club on Saturday. Stephen Bezuidenhout and Mandy Long were the B League men’s and women’s singles winners respectively.
At the prizegiving function afterwards, Di Hornby (Southwell) was awarded the Most Improved Woman award, while Leslei van der Merwe received the the title of the Most Improved Male.
The Service to Tennis award went to Sheryl Emslie.
