Four men men arrested for illegal hunting appeared in the Tarkastad Magistrate’s Court this week. According to a SAPS statement by Captain Lariane Jonker, the four men, aged between 18 and 40 were arrested just outside Tarkastad in the Karoo, on Sunday. they were found with a porcupine. Tarkastad police stopped a Toyota bakkie and confiscated two licenced 303 rifles, three Steenbok and a porcupine, Jomker said. Police have warned business owners of a proof of payment scam following the arrest of two people who nearly got away with goods worth close to R40 000 last weekend.
