Former Radio Grahamstown DJ, Eugene Siyabulela Tokwe, who died in a taxi accident on 23 December last year, has been described by friends and former colleagues as “an outspoken soldier with a vision”. Tokwe and his friend, Vusumzi Lubelwane were travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town in a Toyota Quantum taxi on business in December.

One person died and four were injured when a bus collided with a white Golf outside Seven Fountains last Thursday night. Police spokesperson, Inspector Sherolene Williams said the bus was travelling to Port Elizabeth while the other vehicle was travelling to Grahamstown. The occupant of the Golf died on the scene and the car was damaged beyond repair.

The installation of bulk sewer services in and around Mayfield is expected to be completed by the end of next month even though the contractor says they are behind schedule.
