Good Shepherd Primary School's inaugural Rugby Day was a great success. Forming part of their 160th Anniversary Celebrations this year, the day was held at the Oval recently.
Good Shepherd Primary School is amongst the oldest church established schools in South Africa.
On Saturday, teachers, learners, the Grahamstown community, coaches and sponsors/donors attended this event.
Schools taking part included Good Shepherd, St Mary’s, George Dickerson and Archie Mbolekwa U11 and U13 rugby sides.
Good Shepherd U13 were crowned the Champions for the day after beating George Dickerson in the final (12-7).
Good Shepherd U13 speedster and winger Bevan Hopshire received the U13 Player of the Day award for his all-round performance on the day, scoring four tries.
Jezi Sivethemba of Archie received the U11 Player of the Day award as he scored two tries in two games.
