The Office also recommends that citizens avoid eating shellfish from the Nelson Mandela Bay coastal area until the municipality says otherwise.
This follows a recent red discolouration of the sea water in some areas of Nelson Mandela Bay and coastal surrounds.
The municipality are currently running tests to determine whether the discolouration of the water is toxic or not, alongside experts in the field.
Consultations are also taking place between the municipality and the relevant national governmental departments.
However, the Office is not in a position to confirm whether fish and shellfish from the affected areas are toxic or not, pending results.
Preliminary results from samples collected have identified eight species of dinoflagellates, that might the be cause of the change of water colour.
The Office furthers calls upon the people of Nelson Mandela Bay not to panic or raise an alarm, prior to a confirmation of results.
