Members of the Makana Legends religious group held a silent protest outside the Makhanda High Court on 16 March 2023, demanding an end to plans to relocate the court to Bisho. Led by Archbishop Nkosinathi Ngesi, the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Episcopal Church, the protestors said: “nothing about Makhanda High Court without consulting Makhanda stakeholders in Makhanda”.
