The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced that November social grants payments will begin on Wednesday, 3 November for old age (any grants linked to these accounts) and Thursday, 4 November for disability grants age (any grants related to these accounts).

Child support, foster and care dependency grants will be paid from Friday 5 November 2021. Payments at cash pay-points will begin on 8 November 2021.

Special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress R350 grant
SASSA is calling upon Special COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant clients who, in the initial phase of this grant, did not receive their grants to visit their nearest Post Office before 30 November 2021. This extended period provided is to ensure that no one is left outside the social security safety net.

In this current phase of the Special SRD ending 31 March 2022, those who had received SMS’s to collect their grants may go to the Post Office or Boxer or Pick ‘n Pay to receive their R350 grants. A client must bring with them a registered cellular phone and Identity Document or Card. Clients are to wait for an SMS from SASSA directing them to go to these retail stores or Post Office on a specified date.

Please note: The Special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant R350 will not be paid during ordinary social grants payment days at the Post Offices, including weekends.
