    Be useful; make a difference

We all to a certain degree have this hunger to feel useful, to feel we’re making a difference.

Peter shares the secret to being useful in 2 Peter 1:5-8.

He writes as follows; 5 Make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, 6 knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, 7 godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Christian Standard Bible).

Basically Peter is saying to us that in order to be useful, we need to add a few things to our faith. Things like goodness, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, brotherly affection and love. But how do we add these things to our faith?

A quick word study of these things shows us that we add these things to our faith if we embrace living life God’s way. By doing everything the way God wants us to. What it boils down to is if we believe the Bible as it’s written and if we do what’s written we will experience what’s written.

Doing life God’s way will make the worlds difference in your life and everybody else’s life that crosses yours.
