Yolande Delport sent these photos of the work a group of Riebeeck East residents are doing to beautify their  town. “First was the school wall facing our main (and only!) street,” writes Delport. “Many years ago i did a mural with the children and we painted our dreams in one of the 67-minute Madiba sessions. The pictures faded over the years and the neighbouring wall crumbled into a heap. As a mosaic artist, my head started seeing pieces of tiles, colour and murals. I knew it would be an enormous task, but when i presented the idea to members of our community to transfer the mural pics and mosaic them, they were all on board without the slightest hesitation. We started in May and the final installation took place on 28 December.”
