The ninth Grahamstown Christmas Market, organised by the Rapportryers and NG Kerk Albanie, is going to be bigger than ever, with more than 60 exhibitors filling up the hall and stage at PJ Olivier school. Hours on Thursday 30 November and Friday 1 December are 10am to 7pm and on Saturday 2 December, 9am to 3pm.

The now famous Coffee Shop  with their wide range of cakes and eats will be back in the foyer, as well as  an ice cream parlour. Light meals will also be served over lunch and supper time. Enjoy it with a craft Featherstone-brewed beer on tap. Bring the family and friends along for a relaxed experience.

Exciting stands, include Meryl Queisser’s custom-made jewellery – QJewelsSA  – and fragrances, Jo Hoole with her wide selection of sausages, salami’s and famous cookies, Bluerobincreations  with her trendy beads, bags and handmade gifts, Cambrian Fuchsia Nursery and The Village Farm stall from Bedford with its variety of jams, cookies and other delicious treats.

Also on the market menu are Beth Redmond from Enchanted Glass, with her handmade stained-glass work, Kisma Kreative – mostly recycled accessories and gifts, Cheryl Craig with her teddy bears and wide variety of bags and homeware made from unusual fabrics, Claudia Chandler with her eclectic mix of vintage and antique small collectables, Olga Domingues with her peri-peri sauces, curds and salad dressings, Greek Christmas cookies and homemade soaps, Linda Marais from Port Alfred with frozen meals, biscuits and rusks, Ronnie Herselman from East London with doggie products, Hilary Mohr with her variety of clothes, Barry Irwin with wooden and tile platters, Anna Pieterse with her famous milk tarts, cookies and eats.

There will be olive products from Riversdale and Prince Albert and cheeses from Paterson, and our famous potter and artist Sue Bax will spread her very special ware. We are also excited to have Robyn Oosthuysen  from Design Ardour and friends again with their paintings, Christmas decorations, paper, cards, DIY decorating kids and Christmas cakes on our market. Grahamstown Woodworkers with their stunning range and Boredombusters for kids from Donnae will be with us again.

We welcome for the first time Debbie Johnson with her beautiful range of rosy cards, Sanet with stunning tins and gifts, Ngcura  with its unique decorated wash boards, Cheryl Luden with baby  quilts, Sally Koen with a range of hotboxes and tote bags,  Tobias de Vlamingh with his wide range of candles and eats, Dorene Kemp with her famous pies,  Anli van der Meulen  with handy boxes and Lindy  van Jaarsveldt with special Xmas cookies.  On the stage we welcome back Brian Hammond with paintings, and newcomers Kenneth Kropf from Bedford with his range of paintings and Charles Brett with a wide range of classical  music, Jo-Anne with her kids’ beanies and handwork  and Edri Myburgh with colourful paintings.

We  also welcome back Calitzdorp Wines with their famous port and gift packs, Tastebuddelights, Denise from PE with a delightful fairy and Xmas  range. Sheepskin slippers, a wide selection of jewellery, craftwork, Elsabe’s needlework, tableware, place mats, Suzie’s bags, KetsCrafts with unique wall hangings, watercolour paintings from Rosalie, Xmas decorations from Angela, mini succulents and a wide variety of plants are on offer. Kuyasa School will offer their craftwork made by pupils and Courage his beadwork. Diana and Wendy, with a huge range of wood cutwork and gifts and Peter, with his large selection of woodwork, will join us from Port Alfred.
