The Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture together with Border Cricket hosted coaching clinics with the South African National Cricket team 20 October in Mdantsane, East London.
This follows after the Proteas defeated Bangladesh in the second ODI in Paarl and with it claimed a 2-0 lead in the three match series.
The team will conduct coaching clinics with aspiring young talented youth at the one-stop-sport-winter-rose complex that was launched by MEC Pemmy Majodina last year in Mdantsane with the aim of reviving community sport activities.
The Proteas will further engage with the future cricketers coming from surrounding schools, motivating them and sharing their stories on how they made it to the national team.
At the launch, MEC Pemmy Majodina indicated that “The one-stop-sport model offers diversity of sporting codes and recreational activities for both in and out of school youths and adults, therefore creating footprints of excellence through the delivery of quality programmes bringing about positive social change.”
