Police and rescue teams will resume searches at low tide along Port Alfred’s beaches today after a man was washed out to sea yesterday.

Pollice spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said the man, 21, was swimming with two friends at West Beach Saturday 26 August when the incident occurred.

“SAPS, Emergency services and search teams were on the scene and searched the beaches until late yesterday with no success,” Govender said in a statement today. “Searches will continue with SAPS and rescue teams at low tide along the beaches today.”
