St. Andrew’s College got their 2017 K-Day off to the best possible start on Wednesday evening as they thrashed Kingswood College 6-0 in a first team boys hockey clash on Webster Astro.
Right from the first whistle, the home side piled on the pressure, with Peter Jarvis coming close to scoring the first goal of the game. Soon afterwards, he made up for his early miss by stroking the ball into the net and finally putting his side ahead.

From there on, Kingswood struggled to cope with the relentless St. Andrew’s pressure. A Joshua Marx goal sent St. Andrew’s into half-time 2-0 up, but their best hockey was yet to come.

Right after the start of the second half, Jarvis grabbed his second goal on the night and captain Luke Hobson scored another to put the game to bed.
However, even then, St. Andrew’s did not take their foot off the gas. Jarvis sealed his hat-trick before Hobson scored the final goal of the game with two minutes left to play.

The home crowd lapped up their side’s stunning performance, running through their arsenal of warcries.
However, with girls hockey, netball and rugby still to come, there is plenty still to play for in this year’s K-day.
