    Woman in R80K dagga bust

    Grahamstown police seized dagga worth nearly R80 000 when they stopped and searched a long-distance overnight bus this week.

    Grahamstown police seized dagga worth nearly R80 000 when they stopped and searched a long-distance overnight bus this week.

    South African Police Service spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said the SAPS Grahamstown cluster team stopped the bus on the N2 opposite Settlers Monument around 9.40pm on Thursday 26 January.

    They searched the bus and identified a 35-year-old woman travelling from Durban to Riversdale as the owner of two bags containing compressed dagga weighing 26.4 kg.and worth R79 200.

    Govender said the woman was arrested and charged for possession of dagga. She will appear in the magistrate's court in Grahamstown on Monday 30 January.
