Coega Development Corporation was awarded as a Top Performing Public Service at the 14th annual National Business Awards 17 November, held at the Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

The awards recognised those demonstrating the greatest impact on quality of life, economic prosperity or regeneration through direct investment, pro bono work or employee-led initiatives.

CDC has played a remarkable role in stimulating socio-economic development in South Africa. In the past four years, the CDC has attracted 54 new investors with a combined investment value of R31.93 billion.

This has seen the Coega IDZ become a premium investment destination showcasing world-class infrastructure and expertise.

The CDC recently signed BAIC, a R11.5 billion investment automotive plant to be located at the IDZ.
