Forget Ndlovu, Jabulani Ndlovu and Sikhumbuzo Ndlovu, who were arrested in connection with rhino poaching, will appear in court again on 7 December.

Yesterday the three men made a brief appearance in the Grahamstown magistrate's court and magistrate Shaun Murphy postponed the case for further investigations.

The trio, who were represented by lawyer Terry Price, entered the court all wearing hoods. They looked calm during court proceedings. The magistrate said they will remain in custody.

A source said even though the court has set their next court appearance date, the men want to have a bail application before 7 December.

The source said even if they get a chance to have a bail application brought to an earlier date, it was unlikely that they would get it.
The men were arrested this year in Makana Resort on the outskirts of Grahamstown after being found in possession of a 72cm rhino horn valued at approximately R1.2 million.

The men, who according to court documents are not related to each other, were arrested in connection with a poaching incident at the Buckland’s Private Game Reserve this year. Forget and Jabulani are not related and are Zimbabwean citizens. Sikhumbuzo is a South African citizen.

Police reported that the men were also found with one darting rifle, saws and knives, drugs used to dart animals, various darts and percussion caps, a variety of camping gear and rations, several cellphones and two rental vehicles.

At the time of their arrest, Eastern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Sibongile Soci said the men could possibly be linked to 10 rhino poaching incidents in the Eastern Cape, as well as Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.
