Nobody was hurt when a man opened fire on another in Beaufort Street around noon yesterday.

An eye witness said the two men had an argument and one took out a gun and shot the other.

Fortunately he missed him and Hi-Tec security members who were patrolling stopped their vehicle and apprehended the man on the spot.

Police spokesperson Captain Luvuyo Mjekula confirmed the incident and said the Hi-Tec Security team and SAPS arrested the 25-year-old man after he allegedly fired at another man in Beaufort Street.

Mjekula said no one was injured during the incident.

"Hi-Tec members who were patrolling heard a gunshot and noticed a commotion in the area.

They stopped and recovered the firearm, a Norinco 9mm parabellum.

"The suspect will appear in court shortly on charges of discharging a firearm in an urban area and possession of an unlicensed firearm."
