Kwantu Private Game Reserve has announced the birth of three lion cubs and released images publicly for the first time in celebration of World Lion Day on Wednesday.

The cubs – Jikela, Khuzani and Yekile – were born on the reserve between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown on the Sidbury Plains two months ago.

They will suckle for another four months before switching to an all-meat diet, and are extremely curious, according to Kwantu Private Game Reserve CEO Shakir Jeeva.

Kwantu offers a Big Five African adventure and a range of wildlife activities. It is situated only a short drive outside Port Elizabeth. Photo: Supplied
