    Two former Grahamstown schoolboys make Blitzboks’ Olympic training squad.

    Blitzboks coach Neil Powell has announced his 19-man training squad for the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, including former St. Andrew's pupil Ryan Kankowski and former Mary Waters and Kingswood pupil Rosko Specman.

    Blitzboks coach Neil Powell has announced his 19-man training squad for the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, including former St. Andrew's pupil Ryan Kankowski and former Mary Waters and Kingswood pupil Rosko Specman.

    Kankowski is one of four players in the squad with Springbok caps, along with Juan de Jongh; Francois Hougaard; and Bryan Habana.

    Next month, the squad will be cut to 12 men before they travel to Rio and prepare for the rugby 7s tournament to kick off on 9 August.

    The Blitzboks training squad is: 

    Tim Agaba, Chris Dry, Ryan Kankowski, Kwagga Smith, Kyle Brown, Philip Snyman, Dylan Sage, Cheslin Kolbe, Rosko Specman, Branco du Preez, Cecil Afrika, Justin Geduld, Francois Hougaard, Juan de Jongh, Werner Kok, Ruhan Nel, Seabelo Senatla, Siviwe Soyizwapi, Bryan Habana
