Household garbage will not be collected on June 16, Youth Day, advises Makana Municipality.
It will however be collected on Friday, June 17. Residents are asked to keep their garbage on their premises on the public holiday and put it out on the following day.
Boil before you drink
Based on the test results for May, the manager of Makana's water and sanitation services, Ntombi Tshicilela, has urged residents to boil water first as a precautionary measure if they intend to drink it.

Tshicilela said the May results were of concern, but do not indicate that the water is not safe to drink.
