The Eastern Province Kings will travel to Namibia this weekend to take on the Windhoek Draft Welwitschias in round four of the 2016 edition of the Currie Cup.

The Kings, who have failed to pick up wins in the previous three rounds of the competition, have made a number of changes to their line-up due to several players being called up to the U20 Springbok training squad.

Several players have come in from the Kings’ Super Rugby squad; namely Liam Hendricks; Jacques Engelbrecht; and JP du Plessis.

Hendricks comes in for Nicolaas Oosthuizen at loosehead prop; Engelbrecht comes in at eighth man to replace Junior Pokomela; and du Plessis replaces Jeremy Ward at inside centre.

St. Andrews old boy Sintu Manjezi, will captain the side, while Kingswood old boy Davron Cameron moves up from the bench to replace Franswa Uekermann at scrumhalf. He is joined by fellow Kingswood old boy, Somila Jho, who starts at outside centre.

The only other change comes in the form of SF Nieuwoudt, who replaces JP Jonck at flank. This change was forced through a facial injury to Jonck.

Both the Kings and Welwitschias have struggled thus far this season, with neither team managing to pick up a win. The Kings lost to the Border Bulldogs this past weekend after leading at halftime by seven. They will be looking to play for the full 80 this weekend against a strong Welwitschias side.

The game will be held at Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek, and will start at 4 p.m. local time on Saturday 30 April.
