According to the the South African Weather Office, the Eastern Cape could see its first cold snap this year over the coming weekend.

Statistics say that this area generally has its first significant temperature dip by the 23 April – so the 2016 drop will be about a week late.
Garth Sampson of the Eastern Cape forecasting desk says, "This is nothing drastic by any standard."
According to Garth, here's the outlook over the next four days.
Wednesday 27/04/2016: A frontal system develops SW of Cape Town starts to move rapidly south past the country. This will bring with it moderate to fresh winds along the coastal belt and adjacent interior.
Thursday 28/04/2016: Secondary frontal development takes place behind the original front. Moderate winds will be experienced for most of the day.
Friday 29/04/2016: A deep layer of cloud associated with the secondary front, moves in over the Western and Eastern Cape from the south. We will start experiencing cloudy and windy conditions with the possibility of some rain from the morning.
Saturday 30/04/2016: A surface high ridges in behind the front with freezing levels dropping below 6000ft in the south.
This is likely to lead to snowfall overnight over the high mountain peaks of the Outeniqua, Kouga Mountains and later during the day spreading north-eastwards to the Winterberg and southern Drakensberg.
Rainfall is expected in the form of showers, mainly along the coast and southern mountains and areas south of the Winterberg. Lighter rain is expected north of the Winterberg.
