    St Andrews beat St Albans at Saints Festival

    The St Stithians Easter sports festival saw Grahamstown’s St Andrews meet Pretoria’s St Albans on the rugby field on Saturday 26 March 2016.

    St Andrews played a good game and came out the winners of the match by six points with the final score 14-8.

    The St Stithians Easter sports festival saw Grahamstown’s St Andrews meet Pretoria’s St Albans on the rugby field on Saturday 26 March 2016.

    St Andrews played a good game and came out the winners of the match by six points with the final score 14-8.

    The St Albans pupils were present to show support for the team throughout the match whilst family members made up the St Andrews support.

    The first half of the match saw St Albans score the first try of the match, the try was not converted which meant St Albans had the lead at 5-0.

    St Albans was then awarded a penalty and eighthman Luke Rosenberg slotted his attempt at goal to make the score 8-0 to St Albans.

    St Andrews’ Thom Stevens then scored the first try for the Grahamstown side which was converted leaving the score at 7-8 to St Albans at half time.

    The Second half of the match saw St Andrews come out on the top with Michael Turner scoring his sides second and final try of the match adding a further five points.

    The try for St Andrews proved to be enough as Chris Benjamin converted the try adding a further two points to make the final score on the score board at 14-8 in favour of St Andrews.
