Today (Tuesday 22 March) is the final day of the South African Level 3 National Age Group Swimming Championships.

The event is taking place at the Newton Park Swimming Pool in Port Elizabeth and four Grahamstown swimmers – John Maree, Erin Jarvis, Toni Rafferty and Courtney Repinz – are taking part.

Toni has already shown her class, earning three medals and breaking a record. On Sunday she won a silver in the 100m freestyle beating her own Eastern Province Open women's record as well as the girls U14 record with a time of 59.45 seconds.

She also got a bronze having tied for third place in the 50m butterfly in 29.24 seconds. Last night, she got another bronze in the 50m freestyle with a time of 27.88. John took fourth spot in the 100m backstroke.

The SA Level 3 National Age Group Swimming Championships concludes today with the heats session starting at 8.30am and the finals at 3pm.
