Eastern Province's captain, Anthony Dakin, became the first player ever in the history of the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week to score a century in a Twenty/20-match.

Dakin scored an unbeaten 107 runs from 74 deliveries on the main oval at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University against Northern Cape to secure his place in the history of the tournament.

St Andrew’s College pupil, Anthony struck ten fours and three sixes in this milestone innings. The previous best innings by a player in a T20 match in the tournament was by Gauteng's Bradley Dial (86) against North West during the 2012-edition in Potchefstroom. T20's was introduced to the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week for the first time in Benoni in 2009. No matches in this format was however possible due to rain on the third day of the tournament in 2009.

Dakin's grandfather, Geoff Dakin, was the first president of the United Cricket Board (Cricket South Africa) in 1991. Geoff Dakin also represented Eastern Province in 59 first class matches during his career, while his son and Anthony's uncle, Grant, also played first class cricket.

His team mate Lutho Sipamla also experienced an exceptional day. He managed to pick up a hat-trick of wickets on his way to picking up five wickets for a mere four runs. Firstly he made Roché Rossouw's (16) off-stump, before rearranging Motheo Manake's (0) stumps with the next delivery. He then also got rid of André Share (0) with a bit of help by wicketkeeper, Keenan Vieira of Graeme College, to complete his hat-trick.

Mpumalanga's seamer Elnu Potgieter also managed to pick up a five-wicket haul in his side's victory of seven wickets against Limpopo. He removed five of Limpopo's batsmen for only eight runs.

Six teams managed to win both their T20 matches on the third day. They were Western Province, KwaZulu-Natal Inland, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Gauteng and Northerns. Of all the teams only Gauteng and Western Province remained unbeaten at the end of the third day.
