Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the road traffic accident which claimed the life of a young Rhodes student earlier this year to contact them.

The incident occurred in New Street, Grahamstown, in the early hours of 13 June 2015 at around 3.30am.

Grahamstown Crime Intelligence Officer Captain Milanda Coetzer said, "SAPS Grahamstown, under the direction of the Director of Public Prosecutions, is finalising the investigation into the road traffic accident which claimed the life of a young Rhodes student earlier this year in the early hours of 13 June 2015

"Although several witnesses have approached the SAPS with their version of events, corroboration is still needed.
"Of great concern to the SAPS have been the fact that, due to the time which has lapsed, witnesses have become influenced by social media versions," Coetzer said.

Coetzer asked for anyone with information who can assist the SAPS in the successful finalising and possible prosecution of the case to please call Captain J Gouws at 046 603 9262 or 082 442 3658 (not Whatsapp linked).
