The St Andrew’s College 1st cricket side dominated the day on Lower Field after being sent into bat by Dale College on Saturday. The pitch was well prepared by Roger Wilkinson, giving the bowlers and batsman bounce as well as pace to work with.

Eastern Province player, Anthony Dakin, and Chris Benjamin showed good discipline after an early wicket and compiled a superb 243 run second wicket partnership.

Dakin top scored with a fine 155 and Chris Benjamiwas 101 not out. St Andrew’s finished on a formidable 314/2 in their 50 overs.

The Dale opening batsmen applied themselves early on, but the St Andrew’s spinners James Quarmby (3/31) and Simon Taylor (3/35) found the breakthrough and Dale were not able to recover.

Dale were dismissed for 138 runs and St Andrew’ won by 176 runs.
