Eastern Province will face neighbours South Western Districts and Border in their opening two matches when the South African Rugby Union sevens interprovincial is played in Nelspruit on Friday and Saturday (6 and 7 November).

Under the guidance of ace former Springbok sevens star and Grahamstonian Fabian Juries, EP will be looking to make an early impact on the competition and they should have fascinating contests against opponents, with whom they enjoy a healthy rivalry. Also from Grahamstown, Graeme College pupil, Ethan September is part of the EP side.

EP's third and final game of the day is against Free State, so it will be a tough test allround on the opening day.

The EP women's team will kick off the tournament on the A field when they play the Blue Bulls in their first match. It will be the start of a test of stamina for the side because they play three more matches on the opening day.

The provincial showdown will feature 16 men’s teams and 18 women’s teams, with the sides going head-to-head for the title of SARU Interprovincial champions.

The 16 teams in the men’s division will feature the 14 South African provincial unions, a Pumas Lowveld team and the Limpopo Blue Bulls, while the women’s division will include teams from the 14 provincial unions, a Blue Bulls Invitational side, the Limpopo Blue Bulls, SA Students and South African National Defence Force (SANDF).

The Blue Bulls men and Border women will enter the competition as the defending champions.
