Former Grahamstown resident and school teacher, Neil Malherbe, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing child pornography in the Nelspruit Regional Court.
Malherbe, 50, was arrested as a result of an international investigation called Operation Spade.
Interpol and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were among the international agencies involved in the investigation into a suspected pornography syndicate.
Another Grahamstown resident, Anthony Evans, was arrested earlier this year in the same operation.
Local child welfare workers said at the time that the 10-year jail sentence for Evans for the possession, manufacture and distribution of child pornography was an insult to children.
Evans, 53, who pleaded guilty to all three charges, was sentenced on 29 May 2015 according to a plea and sentencing agreement.
Malherbe taught at a Grahamstown school until 2002.
