The best rugby schools in the township will resume their battle on Wednesday 5 August with the return of the school rugby competition, Grahamstown Initiative Development Programme.

Last year, the competition was won by Mary Waters (Mawas) after they defeated Nathaniel Nyaluza (Nyasas) 15 – 10 in the final.

The rivalry between the two schools is expected to be revived this time round as they have, in the past, proved to be the two strongest teams in the competition and a good match for each other.

The 2014 competition was for under 15 sides only but this year it has been expanded to include first teams.

The first matches of the competition will take place at The Oval stadium tomorrow (Wednesday 5 August) with kick-off expected at 2:30pm.
