Judgment for murder accused Christopher Panayiotou was postponed for Tuesday July 28 by Judge Glen Goosen at the high court in Grahamstown on Monday 20 July 2015.

The 28-year-old was not present during the bail appeal. He is in custody at St Albans Prison.

It is alleged that Panayiotou hired an employee at Infinity club in Algoa Park to find someone to kidnap and murder his wife Jayde Panayiotou on 21 April 2015.

Jayde was kidnapped and was found dead in KwaNobuhle location in Uitenhage.

Shortly after the funeral Panayiotou was arrested.

Jayde's sister, Toni Inggs, claimed that shortly after her death, money was withdrawn from Jayde's bank account.

The DA Women's Network (DAWN) staged a silent protest outside the court in Grahamstown on Monday.

Provincial chairperson Celeste Barker said they would "picket in silent dignity for 'Justice for Jayde' from 9am on Monday 20 July.

"We stand firm on the founding values of our Constitution. All accused are innocent till proven guilty and all victims of gender based violence have equal opportunities to fairness and equality before the law," Barker said in a media release.

"We will picket and raise our voices until all South African women enjoy the rights of freedom of movement, expression, association and the opportunity to craft their own futures regardless of the circumstances of their birth.

"East Cape DAWN seeks justice for every single woman who has been the victim of gender-based violence."
