Residents of Sofisa and K streets in Joza say a water leak reported three months ago still hasn't been fixed, and that it's left a school and some houses without water.
Caretaker at Archie Mbolekwa Senior Primary School, Lizani Ncwadi, said the leak started after a front-end loader was used to clean the adjacent dump site three months ago.
When Grocott's Mail visited the area the water was vigorously bubbling out of two pipes running down K Street.
The pipes run underneath a dump site.
"The machine came here and cleaned the rubbish and apparently hit the pipes," said Ncwadi.
"That was when this all started."
Ncwadi said officials had come to check on the problem.
"They will come back soon, but we haven't seen them since," he said.
"I am working here at the school and we don't have water."
Chumani Faltein who lives in a nearby house said sometimes they run out of water in that area.
"Just think of the litres of water that have been wasted here for the past three months," said Faltein.
The municipality had not yet aswered emailed questions by the time of going to print.
