The Albany Bowling Club women’s side, consisting of Gwen Bartlett, Amanda Everton, Marlene Jacobs and Thelma du Preez will take part in the Eastern Province section finals.

The women’s side, skippered by Gwen Bartlett, finished as runners-up in the Eastern Areas competition held at the Albany Bowling Club over the weekend.

The competition was held to determine the overall Eastern Areas section winners.

The Albany men (Clive Bartlett, Bresby du Preez, Marlo Agnew and Bille Krige) lost both their games, against Kenton (on Saturday afternoon) and against Kowie on Sunday afternoon.

The women’s side lost against Port Alfred on Sunday, but finishing as runners-up will see them play in the finals.

The EP finals takes place at the Kenton Bowling Club on 4 and 5 July.
