The visitors were first to score early in the game. Vincent Mains then slotted over a penalty for Brumbies and it was the home team that continued to dominate much of the first half.
Potgieter scored the first try for the Brumbies, which was followed up minutes later by a try from Athenkosi Mfazwe.
Mains converted both to give Brumbies a 17-7 lead.
Alexius Walters scored a great team try after the home side attacked from their own try line with good interplay between forwards and backs.
Walters finished off under the poles. Mains converted to give his side a healthy 24-7 lead.
The visitors pulled one back in the 30th minute, while Walters scored his second try on the stroke of halftime.
Mains converted as Brumbies lead 31-14 at the break.
Crusaders scored soon after the kick-off in the second half, but Brumbies replied with two tries through Potgieter and replacement winger, Edgar Tarentaal.
Mains converted one as they extended the lead to 43-19.
Allan Loutz bulldozed his way through three defenders to score Brumbies' seventh try, before Mfazwe finished off with a great try as he handed off two defenders and out-sprinted the cover defence to score under the poles.
Hooker, Leclue Smith, converted. Brumbies won 55-19.
Flank Jason Potgieter, fullback Alexius Walters, and winger Athi Mfazwe, were the stand out players.
All three scored two tries each and enjoyed great all-round performances.
"It was a brilliant collective team effort today, where everything fell into place and everything worked for us," said Brumbies coach, Ricardo Abrahams.
"We have done the basics and that was the difference between today and the previous games".
Brumbies U20s beat Crusaders 34-20.
Dimitri Stuurman, Tevin Pillay, Thinus 'Skills' Theelitsha, Jody Matroos and Jack Curtis Daniels scored tries.
Ruwayne Brooks slotted four conversions and two penalties. Brumbies 1st Reserves drew 24-24.
Edgar Tarentaal scored two tries, while Joe Mqubuli and Anrico Quiens scored one try each.
