K-Day will culminate in the 1st XV rugby match between hosts St Andrew's College and Kingswood College on Lower Field on Saturday 13 June at 3.30pm.
Both St Andrew’s and Kingswood will go into the game full of confidence after their rugby games last weekend.
Kingswood beat Stirling 63-0, after leading 35-0 at the half-time break.
According to officials at the game, it was called off early.
Playing in Queenstown, St Andrew’s beat Queens College 38-32.
A positive for St Andrew’s will be that they held on to their lead as Queens attacked in the final few minutes which will, perhaps, lay the ghost of their losing to both Bishops and Graeme in the final minute of each of those games.
St Andrew’s captain, Tom Lane says he is hoping for a good game, and one that people would “love it to be”.
His opposite number, Josh Shelley, said his team is well prepared for K-Day. Both sides have a number of players selected for the EP Country side that will take part in the Coca-Cola Craven Week in July.
Sazi Sandi of St Andrew’s is the only Grahamstown player to be part of the EP Craven Week side and he could be formidable in the scrums for St Andrew’s.
Anthony Dakin of St Andrew’s will captain the EP Country side, and, as team kicker, he will look to continue his fine form. Sibabalwe Mzanywa of Kingswood (also part of the EP team), will be hoping for another good all-round performance, similar to his game against Stirling.
Kingswood captain Joshua Shelley (another EP Country player), will need to keep his side calm in the face of the K-Day hype.
Shelley helped his side last week with a try and numerous conversions.
He, too, will want his accuracy boot on, as often an entire derby game can be won by the side with the more accurate kicker.
