Two of the big three rugby playing schools kick off the first major showdown of the year when Graeme hosts St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon.

While no one ever takes anything for granted, St Andrew's have held the upper hand in recent seasons and despite both sides fielding relatively inexperienced teams, it could be another tough afternoon for the hosts.

Graeme, however, do have former St Andrew's director of rugby Allan Miles in their corner this year and his input could be invaluable if the Graemians are to bury their recent jinx.

Another Grahamstown school, Kingswood, travels to Queenstown for what will be a real challenge against Queen's.

Kingswood are highly rated this year, but they will need to show better finishing after being edged out by Hudson Park last weekend.

They will also have to tighten up their defence against a Queen's team always full of running on the Rec field.
