Rhodes University Soccer Club's men's first team found new life as they fired on all cylinders with massive scorelines.

In their latest match, against Italy on Saturday, Rhodes (in maroon) won 7-0. For the second time in a row they scored seven goals in a match, taking their tally to 37 in 12 matches.

They are currently the highest scorers in the league.

Their third win in a row puts Rhodes fourth on the log with 21 points, four behind leaders Makana Pillars.

In their midweek fixture (Wednesday 25 March at 6pm) they will meet Shining Stars for second time, just over a week after walloping them 7-2.

Rhodes were on fire at the start of the season and looked a side capable of clinching the title with ease before hitting a bit of a slump at the beginning of this year. Photo: Stephen Penney
