Today is the fourth day Grahamstown East residents have been without water after a burst pipe forced municipal workers to completely shut down the Botha’s Hill reservoir.

Areas affected are Extensions 4 and 5, Fingo Village, Tantyi and Xolani.

"They are not done with the repairs yet, they are fixing the burst pipe," Makana's water manager Ntombi Tshicilela told Grocott's Mail late on Monday 2 February.

She said the repairs would be completed before the end of the day.

"The reservoirs are full. Once they are finished with fixing the pipes we will switch on the pumps," Tshicilela told Grocott's Mail.

However, on Tuesday 3 February the affec ted areas are still without water.

Residents have been without water since Saturday 31 January.
