    Makana Rini United (Maru) beat City Pirates in a derby soccer encounter which took place on Fiddlers Green on Saturday 17 January.

    Makana Rini United (Maru) beat City Pirates in a derby soccer encounter which took place on Fiddlers Green on Saturday 17 January.

    The match was a South African Football Association SAB Cacadu league figure.

    It was a game that lived up to all expectations as a tough, but good derby encounter. The match did not disappoint the fans who flocked to the field, as a total of seven goals were scored. Maru won the match 4-3, after leading 4-1 at half-time.

    The match was the second to take place in the second half of the 2014/2015 season.

    City Pirates beat United Eleven from Bathurst on Saturday 10 January by two goals to nil.

    Today’s was Maru’s first game of the second half of the season as they enjoyed a bye last week.
