Victoria Girls High School in Grahamstown once again received a 100% matric pass rate.

Victoria Girls High School in Grahamstown once again received a 100% matric pass rate.

However, it was not the 100% pass rate that had principal Warren Schmidt excited. "For us it's not about the 100% pass rate, but the percentage of girls who received a bachelor pass," Schmidt said.

He was "ecstatic" at the result and hoped to maintain the excellent pass rate.

Schmidt said he was proud that no pupil had achieved an aggregate of less than 50%.

VGHS had a total of 84 pupils writing the 2014 exams.

There were three diploma passes, 81 bachelor passes (96.5%) and five A aggregates. Just under a third of the pupils achieved As or Bs.
