Municipal spokesperson Yoliswa Ramokolo told Grocott's Mail that interviews for the MM position will be conducted on Monday 12 January, headed by the Administrator Pam Yako.
Makana Municipality is currently under administration by the province of the Eastern Cape in terms of Section 139(1)(b) of the Municipal Finance Management Act.
Yako has been appointed administrator for a period of six months, ending at the end of next month.
Appointing the new municipal manager is one of Yako's key priorities before she finishes her tenure in the municipality.
Makana has been without a municipal manager for almost a year.
Busi Khumalo, seconded by the Department of Local Government last year, is currently acting as municipal manager for the Council.
