Ahead of his much anticipated SA welterweight showdown in Mdantsane Saturday13 December, Mziwoxolo Ndwayana received some local support in the form of new tracksuits from Albany Sports.

The challenger from Joza leaves for East London Friday to finally get a crack at the long overdue SA title fight.

Albany sports sponsor manager, Chris Totobela, who manages sponsorship for Albany Sports, said it is important that local businesses support local talent, especially for such a huge occasion.

He said local athletes who represent Grahamstown with pride deserve to be recognised and supported by locals.

The Albany Sports shop gave Ndwayana a bag full of tracksuits worth around R3 000.

Bulelani Ndwayana, the champ's father and coach, said they were very happy with the support from Albany as they were the first people to sponsor the boxer.

He said he wished more of the same could happen as they prepared to represent the city with pride come Saturday evening.
