First billed for Grahamstown, the fight was postponed and moved to East London, but that, too, was changed.
The manager of Ncita Production, Welcome Ncita, again has said the fight is on, although some details seem to be outstanding.
“The officials have confirmed that its next week in Mdantsane,” Ncita said, adding that they are finalising details to ensure the fight is not changed again. He said the fight did not come to Grahamstown because they couldn't get Makana Municipality officials to get the required funding.
“We all know that the municipality is under provincial administration, they don’t have the money,” he said. Bulelani Ndwayana, Mziwoxolo’s father and coach, said that although they are happy the fight is finally happening, they are disappointed it won't take place in front of family in friends.
“We wanted this fight to be here in Grahamstown but all our plans were not possible,” he said. Bulelani said Mziwoxolo was training at the new Indoor Sports Centre in Joza for two weeks, but they were displaced so moved to the old sports centre.
“When we went to training on Thursday the ring was taken out of our training room and we don’t know why because we were not consulted,” Bulelani said, adding that they didn't train for four days before going back to the old sports centre.
Mziwoxolo said that he is keen to get in the ring.
"I just want to fight now, whether the fight is here or in Mdantsane to me it doesn’t matter now,” he said.
