Both teams have collected seven points in the opening three rounds of the SAB league and currently lie second and third respectively on goal difference. Even more intriguing is the fact that both teams have won two of their home matches while only dropping points away from home.
Attackers in particular were the biggest winners last week, as they scorched past local foes City Pirates in a one-nil showdown at JD Dlepu.
They have shown no sign of alarm in the first matches of the campaign, despite being new to the division. Maru is contesting their third season in the SAB. Grahamstown's final representative team, City Pirates, have not enjoyed the almost perfect start their town rivals have.
A loss to Attackers last week meant they remain winless, having drawn their first match of the season. In their first home gamehe club will be hoping for a better showing as they welcome the unbeaten United Eleven side who top the log on seven points at Fiddlers Green this Saturday.
While Pirates will be hoping to hand United Eleven their first defeat of the season, Maru and XI Attackers will both play away games this weekend. Maru are visiting a winless Alexandria side, Leeds United while Attackers will be away to another winless side in Port Alfred's Young Pirates.
