The club awarded best performers who helped maintain the club's reputation as a heavyweight in the Cacadu district.
African Connection's superb season saw them claim their seventh district championship title. At the ceremony Coach Chris Totobela was ecstatic at his team’s achievements in recent seasons.
He implored his players to keep to their winning formula, promising them even better days ahead.
Totobela also touched on the lack of support for his team, saying that the municipality will pull all the stops in supporting certain clubs in Makana.
“A clear example of the lack of support we are facing is when we had to go play a league match in Emnyameni at 11am and the transport we were promised by the municipality only arrived to pick us up 15 minutes before kickoff, “said Totobela.
At the ceremony the club also received some wise words from Vomakwezi Madikwa who told the ladies to avoid distractions in their quest for glory.
“When you are at the top there will always be people who will want to associate themselves with you only because they see you succeed.
“What you should do is always know what you represent. We are very proud of this team and what you do,” said Madikwa. Mandisa Gongqobe was awarded the best player of the year, while Nomazotsho Manci was honoured with the executive award. Almost all the Connection ladies walked away with trophies as their team effort is the ultimate basis for their season of success.
