Police have made another call for assistance in an attempt to find a 57-year-old taxi driver who may have information about the murder of a Grahamstown teacher.

Police have made another call for assistance in an attempt to find a 57-year-old taxi driver who may have information about the murder of a Grahamstown teacher.

Fikizolo Primary School teacher Siphokazi Tom who was in her mid forties was attacked and killed in her home in “ D” Street on 16 October last year, while she was asleep, with her teenage son in the house at the time.

Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said a case of murder is under investigation and police have made no arrests. Police continue to look for Mlimi Niconn Mboniswa, who may possibly be able to assist police in their investigation.

Govender said shortly before the murder he was operating as a taxi driver between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown.

In a separate incident security officers on patrol found the human skeletal remains of a man whose age is unknown at Boskydel Farm near the Kwandwe Game Reserve in the policing precinct of Fort Brown.

Govender said police found the following items at the scene: a pair of black ankle length boots, a pair of black and white socks, a black beanie with an Adidas badge, a blue shirt, a packet of loose Chicago and Kingdom cigarettes.

She said police records did not reflect any missing persons within the Grahamstown cluster. Anyone who may be able to identify the victim through his clothing must please contact Constable Zimasa Nonxuba at Fort Brown Station on 046 622 7777 or 082 442 3630.
