Dale are a vibrant, enthusiastic opponent on their home turf and two early let offs for their left hand Border U18 opening batsman Mnedisi Malika allowed Dale to gain momentum early in their innings.
Simon Taylor’s leg spinner’s had the Dale batsman guessing and his four wickets placed the game in an evenly poised position with Dale on 116/4 after 25 overs.
Mnedisi Malika and Border U18 all-rounder Bamayi Xenxe then played beautifully taking the game away from St Andrew’s College. Malika finished on 109 (112) and Xenxe on 76 (41).
St Andrew’s did well to bowl Dale out in 43 overs but at the cost 272 runs proved too big a challenge for the Stayer’s batting line up.
Dale’s opening bowlers did well in pegging the St Andrew’s batsman, who never recovered, bowling St Andrew’s out for 114.
