Saints & Sinners Cycling Club will take part in the 22nd annual Coronation Double Century (DC) event taking place in Swellendam on Saturday, 22 November.

The annual race, which is a team cycling event, attracts teams from across the country to tackle the challenging 202km route. The Saints & Sinners team will join the other 200-odd teams for a sure test of skill and endurance.

Representing the Saints and Sinners team are Mark Arendse, Nolan Berriman, Bossie Bosman, Nicola Clayton, Johan Conradie, Fabio Diaz, Megan Hobson, Vernon Jones, Duncan Lloyd, Natalie Ross, and team captain, John Van Onselen.

Team Saints and Sinners CC are a group of 12 riders that belong to the Saints and Sinners Cycling Club; they aim to finish the 202km with all 12 riders over the finish line in a time of just seven hours.

While most of the team members are novices to the DC, team captain, van Onselen did it for the first time in 2012 and is looking forward to his second attempt this year.

Made up of mostly experienced triathletes, van Onselen says that the team’s favourite section is the last part just before crossing the finish line, and that they’re “looking very forward to coming down to Cape Town to tackle the beautiful course.”
