GBS Mutual Bank has been running a financial skills programme for more than six years and some 1 200 people have attended.

The programme, part of the GBS Mutual Bank’s Social Responsibility Programme, was designed to build a society that takes care of its people and their needs, specifically by providing the skills required to effectively manage their finances.

GBS Mutual Bank staff member Mfuzo Dyira presents the course, which has theoretical and practical modules covering the applications of saving, budgeting, managing and avoiding debt, setting financial goals and banking, including the use of ATMs.

At the recent GBS Mutual Bank Financial Life Skills Awards ceremony, a group from Assumption Development Centre, headed by David Greybbe, (right) received their certificates from course presenter and GBS employee, Mfuzo Dyira (back).

A total of 64 people received certificates.
